Aaron Carter’s estate will automatically go to his one-year-old son after he passed away in his home in California at the age of 34.
As The Crush on You hitmaker left no will, the law stipulates that his $550,000 real estate and personal property will go to his son, Prince.
Aaron’s twin sister, Angel, reportedly applied to be the administrator.
Speaking to TMZ, Carter’s mother Jane said she had not yet met her grandson or Aaron’s fiancée, Melanie Martin.
She said that the family would like to have a good relationship with them, adding that she wants everything from her son’s estate to go to Prince as she and other members of the family are already well-enough off.
On Friday, Martin took to social media and shared a video of the memorial outside her fiance’s house.
“It’s been a whole month since you’ve been gone,” Martin wrote, “not a day goes by I don’t think of you. I wish you were still here, thank you everyone that came out and made this possible.”
She added: “We were his family through thick and thin. No matter what.”
Nick Carter, 42, also told Extra about the struggles he had during his London performance after learning that his brother died.
He paid tribute to Aaron by putting together a photo memorial while they performed No Place.
“It was very emotional for me, having my guys with me,” he said.
“There’s the old saying, ‘The show must go on,’ that’s been with us for years, but that night, I didn’t know what to expect.”
Their mother, Jane, revealed that Aaron had reached out to Nick before he passed away but the older brother had not been able to get in touch with Aaron was the Backstreet Boys were touring in Europe.
