With humans across the globe trapped inside their house in an attempt to curb the spread of coronavirus, satellites orbiting the earth have witnessed a significant drop in air pollution.
With fewer factories functioning and cars on the road, humankind is giving nature a much-needed break from CO2 emissions.
However, there are so many unbelievably hysteric reports about the healing of nature coming right from the earth.
People have been increasingly posting pictures and videos on social media, showing the flourishment of nature in the current, less-human and less-toxic ecosystem.
People are enjoying sharing these posts on social media, and they are also receiving hundreds of likes and retweets. However, fact-checkers can be real killjoys.
Many reports are showing that these posts are fabricated and for entertainment purposes. However, undoubtedly, humans are resourceful creatures, and in the face of this adversity, we have managed to start a new meme – “Nature is healing, we are the virus.”
The start of this meme can be dated back to March 26th, 2020, with a simple tweet from Ronnie Becker, who is a design student from Minneapolis.
Becker, in an interview, said that there were a lot of posts about Venetian canals getting clear and the dolphins returning to Italy.
Moreover, there were many posts about animals returning to suburban areas, and he was getting a bit annoyed with eco-fascist statements that said that humans are the virus.
This was when he began thinking about things that clearly did not belong in nature. Considering that he hates the scooter-share business, Lime scooters in the river seemed like a perfect option.
After his tweet became viral, a new meme trend emerged wherein people began to show ridiculous post of “natural world,” making its return to the cities. With every passing day, these posts are getting funnier and we are looking forward to seeing more of them.
