Former Astronomer CEO Andy Byron could sue Coldplay due to the massive fallout from his kiss cam fiasco.
A legal expert shared how that could be a serious possibility, especially after the damage he’s faced due to the incident, including public humiliation, personal distress, and a resignation from his CEO position.
The legal expert went on to speak about how he would need to get super creative, and if a possible claim would be linked to defamation, specifically if it relates to Chris Martin characterizing the two as having an affair.
Speaking to Page Six, the MSD Lawyers shared how defamation is a statement, either written or verbal, that injures the third party’s reputation as per the law.
When Byron and Cabot began to hide in shame, they were caught red-handed canoodling at the concert near Boston last week. This is when Martin spoke to fans over the microphone, ‘Either they are having an affair or they are very shy!’ Little did he know that it would prove to be true.
In order for him to prove the Sky Full of Stars singer’s remarks as defamatory, he would need to prove that there was no affair at all. But that seems very unlikely, thanks to the way the cards have played out. Neither he nor Cabot has publicly debunked the rumors, and both of them are married, and they’re spouses were revealed.
