Healthcare Worker Beaten By Neighbors Who Set His House On Fire


A healthcare worker has been hospitalized after angry neighbors savagely beat him up and set his house on fire because they feared he would infect them with coronavirus.

The incident occurred in Neuquén, Argentina, where frontline nurse Daniel Porro spent 14 days in quarantine after being diagnosed with COVID-19 in late June.

After recovering from the disease and testing negative for COVID-19, Porro took some extra time off and stayed at his mother’s place before returning to his home.

Following his return home, however, Porro has been subjected to harassment and abuse from his neighbors who feared he would infect them and spread the virus throughout their neighborhood.

After stepping out of his home to confront the angry mob, Porro was allegedly beaten by his neighbors who condemned him for testing positive for COVID-19, even though he had already recovered, and proceeded to beat him until he lost consciousness.

“We are going to burn the house, we do not want people like you in the town,” the neighbors allegedly told Porro.

While the hardworking nurse was recovering from the assault in the hospital, the family of one of the neighbors behind the attack on the nurse set fire to his home.

The angry neighbors had also stolen Porro’s car which was later found abandoned near the home of the victim.

As of this writing, the police have not yet arrested and charged the culprits responsible for the healthcare worker’s beating, the car theft, and the burning of his house according to the reports.
