With Spring in full swing and Summer soon to come, a problem will rear its ugly head once again: ants.

While we love Summer for the warm weather, fun activities, and delicious barbecue, it also has its downsides like ants infesting your house. They may be small, but they can certainly cause a big headache for any homeowner and even for those just renting an apartment. They will bunch up around your doorways, creep up and down your wall in seemingly endless lines.

As annoying as the ants are, it can be even more annoying to try and get rid of them. I’ve personally tried dozens upon dozens of methods like ant traps. Still, they always come back. While professional services are always an option, not everyone can foot the hundreds of dollars it can cost to really get rid of these pesky ants.

So if you’re like me and none of the inexpensive methods worked and the professional ones are simply too expensive you might appreciate this cool tip from Greg the Gardener. By combining some household stain remover and disinfectant, Borax, and mixing it with sugar and honey, he creates a mixture that is absolutely lethal for ants.

Now if you want the full step-by-step guide for how to create it, we recommend watching the video as Greg provides many useful tips on how to best create it. This mixture will immediately attract all ants in the nearby vicinity. Everyone knows that ants cannot resist the smell of sugar or honey, but when they eat it they will be in for a surprise. Greg puts it best

Any ant that eats this and digests, it will die

We should warn you however: keep this mixture away from your pets. Your pets, along with any other animals like wild cats, will similarly be attracted to this mixture, so you will want to make sure the mixture is never within reach for them. Greg recommends filling up a bottle cap with the mixture and hiding it underneath a pot. This way your pets cannot reach it, but ants will be able to and go crazy.
