Mum Charged With ‘Medical Abuse’ After Forcing Daughter To Undergo ‘470’ Treatments


A foster mother was recently accused of medical abuse for forcing her adopted daughter into undergoing a series of surgical treatments and unnecessary procedures.

The woman who hails from Washington reportedly forced her 6-year-old to undergo more than 470 medical treatments, alongside the surgical procedures too, claim authorities.

Moreover, the mum was identified as 31-year-old Sophie Hartman who forced her adopted daughter into wearing braces over her leg, while pushing her to go under the knife for a number of surgical procedures.point 446 |

After a series of investigations, it was revealed how the mum was guilty of the heinous crime of medical abuse as her adopted was actually healthy and didn’t need any of the procedures that she underwent. Hence, the mum faced a second-degree charge for assault of a young child, explained medical experts.

One senior medical expert mentioned in a recent letter how it was still not yet clear as to why the mum would do such a thing. Moreover, her possible motivation for the crime is still under investigation, confirmed authorities. “The possible motivation for a caregiver to behave in this manner is beyond comprehendible,” it was revealed in the letter.

The actual letter which revealed how the child was actually at a profound risk was also co-signed by a series of other physicians and was also a major part of a number of physicians, with some parts being altered by the prosecutor’s office in King County.

Local media outlets confirmed how the mum was only charged after the child who was identified by the initials C.H. was forced to undergo a period of observation that lasted a good 16 days. This was related to her many ailments as well as treatments.
