You’d have heard of the famous movies of this year, the likes of The Lion King, Avengers: Endgame, Joker, and Toy Story 4.
No doubt, all these are great. But they aren’t the only good movies of 2019.

1. The King
The movie shows 15th century Europe when Henry V just became the king and waged a war on France to ascertain his superiority.
The movie is not based on facts and events of history. It shows more of the personal life of the king, which makes it interesting even for those who don’t have any interest in history.
2. Atlantics
Atlantics is regarded to be the best Senegal movie of the last half-century.
It shows the story of workmen from Dakar who are not happy with their poverty-stricken life and want to go somewhere else to have a new start.
Amongst the group is Souleiman, a young builder who needs to be with Ada, a 17-year-old, more than anything else.
3. Ford v Ferrari
This is a biographical drama surrounding the professional rivalry between Henry Ford and Enzo Ferrari which led to competition between the team of engineers and workmen of both companies.
The aim is to win the 24-hour-long Le Mans race of 1966.
4. La Belle Époque
The story is about the deteriorating relationship between a middle-aged artist and his wife.
To get away from the stress in his life, he joins a company that hires actors and recreates scenes from their lives. The man asks to recreate the day he first met his wife and that changes everything.
5. Ad Astra
The Sci-Fi movie is about the space expedition of a man named Roy McBride who embarks on a journey to Neptune to find his father who never returned from a space trip.
6. An Easy Girl
The epic drama will take you to the warm summer of the French Riviera. The story revolves around two girls who are polar opposites of each other.
Naima, 16, wants to get a college degree and start a white-collar job while Sofia, her cousin, is a pretty girl who is too interested in men and is a real charmer.
The two girls embark on a journey that will shape their personalities and their destiny.
7. Marriage Story
Regarded by viewers and critics as an honest and deep film, this is an addition to the portfolio of the renowned director Noah Baumbach.
The story shows a couple who are getting divorced and are facing problems regarding the custody of their son. The lead roles are played by Scarlett Johnson and Adam Driver.
8. The Death and Life of John F. Donovan
The movie is on the story of a teenager series star John F. Donovan, played by Kit Harington. The actor must keep his sexual orientation a secret in order to have a thriving career.
He loves to keep in touch with his fans personally. Somehow, the chats between John and his fans reach the press and John’s downfall starts.
9. The Lighthouse
The greyscale horror movie shows Willem Dafoe and Robert Pattinson as lighthouse keepers.
They are alone at an island, isolated from the rest of the world, and have to face the crushing fear of the dark legends in which the seamen are resurrected.
10. Her Smell
The story is built around a rebel girl called Becky.
She’s at the top of her career but has to face a plethora of psychological problems. Fans are left wondering if she can ever be happy again in her life.
