Toddler friends who are also neighbors can now play with each other amidst the lockdown after the mother turned the fence of the garden into a Perspex window.
Siblings Arabella (2) and Arlo (3) Devonport began to miss their buddy Leo Adlington who is three years old and resides in the house next door.
Their 27-year old mother Amy Vickers thought of this genius idea of creating a window on their traditional fence between the garden of their house located at Wakefield, West Yorkshire.
After Becca, Leo’s mother agreed to it, the mother began to work, and now all the buddies play together safely without breaking the social distancing norms.
They also draw pictures to show their creativity and enjoy noughts and crosses with wipe-able markers. Amy is a support worker who lives with her 30-year old partner said that Arabella and Arlo were having a hard time as they have not been seeing or playing with anyone.
They kept climbing up on a rabbit cage they have placed by the fence in an attempt to climb up to see their neighbor.
In order to avoid such a dangerous situation, she decided to create a window on the fence. So instead of the kids climbing on the garden fence, they can now see their friends through the window.
They measured the fence prior to ordering the Perspex panel online. Thereafter, using a circular saw, the couple cut the fence panel and drilled holes on each corner in order to screw and secure the panel in place. Thanks to the window, the kids can see other faces and be less agitated.
The couple also purchased different wipe board markers for the kids to draw on it and they have been teaching the kids how to play naughts and crosses. Evidently, the kids love the window and spend most of their days near it when the parents are home.
