Mother-of-three Sent The Last Text To Her Sister Saying She Was Scared Before Dying Of Coronavirus


A 44-year-old mother from Rochdale has died of coronavirus after contracting the deadly virus two weeks ago.

Lindsay Marshall, a mother-of-three who had thyroid and asthma, had been self-isolating for one week.

On March 22, her health deteriorated and she was rushed to the Fairfield General Hospital in Bury.

After spending three days at the hospital, she was transferred to the intensive care unit at Royal Oldham Hospital.

Lindsay’s sister, Karen Marshall said: “She had been self-isolating at home for a week on antibiotics and on Friday before she went to the hospital, she said she was feeling better.”

“On Saturday I dropped some shopping off on her doorstep and stood back and we had a chat. On Sunday morning she was struggling to breathe and was taken to Fairfield hospital.”

Lindsay was then tested positive for coronavirus and told her sister before the sedation that she was scared.

Her sister told that was the last message she got from Lindsay.

Lindsay has left behind three children – 15-year-old Charlie, 10-year-old Lewis, and eight-year-old Georgia.

She also had a partner, Roger, her father, Alan Marshall, her mother, Glenys Marshall, and her sister Karen.

Lindsay’s family is left devastated after her sudden death and her sister said the last two weeks have been the ‘worst two weeks of her life’.

She said she still can’t believe that her sister has gone and described her as a ‘kind, caring sister and auntie who would do anything for anybody’.

Her mother Glenys said: “Lindsay will be sadly missed and she was well-loved by mum, dad, Karen, Roger, Gareth, Charlie, Lewis, and Georgia.”

Karen has urged everyone to stay at home to stay safe after her beloved sister’s death.

She also thanked the nurses and the doctors in the ICU at Royal Oldham Hospital.
