A mother revealed how she was left in tears after a kind “young girl” paid for her Christmas grocery bill after her credit card got blocked.
The incident took place at a Tesco in Aigburth, Liverpool, England, where 46-year-old Paula Fletcher was left unable to pay for her Christmas groceries haul after encountering a problem with her credit card despite having funds in her bank account.
Unable to pay for her selected items which amounted to £69 ($94) with cash, the mother attempted to get her credit card unblocked.
After returning to the cashier, however, she found out that her bill was already paid by the girl who was earlier waiting behind her in the queue. As the cashier reportedly told Fletcher, the good deed was likely linked to the ‘12 Days Of Christmas Kindness’ period.
“I went downstairs to unblock it but when I came back, the girl had paid,” Fletcher recalled in an interview with the Liverpool Echo.
“I was overwhelmed. I had to sit down and I was crying. I think everyone has just had one of those years, haven’t they, were it’s been rubbish.”
After being on the receiving side of an act of kindness, Fletcher shared her story on Facebook in an attempt to identify the mysterious girl in a red jumper so that she could thank her in person.
“I just want to thank the beautiful young lady that paid for my shopping at Park Road Tesco. I don’t know who you are, but I can’t thank you enough. You are one special person,” she wrote in her post.
