A mother was left fuming and heartbroken after a photo of her son was shared on a now-deleted ‘ugly babies’ Instagram page.
Courtney Tait’s son was just one of the dozens of babies to feature on the social media account, which is believed to have been created by someone in Teesside.
According to Teesside Live, the page took photos from public and private Facebook accounts before being removed by moderators.
A picture of Courtney, her partner, and their 9-month-old baby was posted on the page.
One of the photos uploaded to the vile page was a picture of a stillborn baby.
21-year-old Courtney from Middlesbrough said over 200 people had reported the account.
“My friend and her stillborn baby were posted on the page,” she said. “She had photos on her Facebook in a collage. They are using pictures that are on people’s private accounts, so they think it’s someone they know.”
“They have been threatening one girl, messaging her from the Instagram page saying they will kill her mum,” the mother continued.
“My friends have restricted their accounts now.”
“What’s making matters worse is, we’re wondering what kind of people are following this account?” she expressed.
“We don’t have a clue.”
Courtney shared how she felt the moment she found her son’s photo on the page.
“It was heartbreaking to be honest, the last thing I want is for my son to be called ugly. I know my child is gorgeous – it’s not about that,” she said.
“It’s more about who’s viewing my child, taking a photo of my nine-month-old and posting it for other weird people to see.”
Another furious mother took to Facebook and wrote: “Don’t know whose sick enough to do this. They have tried to follow me three times, I have followed them to make sure my baby wasn’t on there.
“We have managed to get an IP address. They are from Thornaby.”
One person commented: “That little baby is absolutely beautiful, whoever made that page and put this little one on it…..is scum.”
