A mother and her son face up to 20 years in jail for incest after the man’s wife caught them having sexual interaction.
64-year-old Cheryl Lavoie and 42-year-old Tony Lavoie from Massachusetts confessed to having intimate relationships in their Fitchburg home, authorities said.
Tony reportedly said to officers ‘it just happened’ and claimed it was only the first time he did it with his mother.
Cheryl said that they had grown closer in the past few months and began having sexual relations when they started kissing.
According to the Sentinel & Enterprise, police were called to a report of a disturbance and arrived at the scene where they met the cousin of Tony’s wife.
The officers were then told by the cousin Tony’s wife caught her husband and his mother-in-law having sex, said police.
Both Cheryl and Tony admitted to the officer that they had sexual relations but claimed it was only the first time it occurred.
When asked why it happened, Tony reportedly said: “I don’t know. It just happened.”
The mother allegedly told officers the incident happened after she and her 42-year-old son had become closer in recent months and they started kissing.
The two were arrested and charged with incest and face up to 20 years in jail.
Tony’s wife, Lori Scaralelovoie, later posted on Facebook: “Just so everyone knows .thanks to u my husband left me .all u s*ck .dont message me again .u believe what u read and don’t know the f****** truth.”
One person commented: “Imagine the wife’s shock! She could never have seen that coming. I wouldn’t have called the cops, though. I would have recorded the scene with my phone (I don’t have one but if I did) and told them to get out and used it to get favorable terms of divorce (if there was anything I could get, such as the house or whatever).”
Another wrote: “Just stomach turning!!”
A third added: “This is sick…but it is two consenting ADULTS . Doesn’t law enforcement have better things to worry about?”
