Soon, after giving birth to her daughter Savannah, Marcy started experiencing blurred vision and was forced to stop breastfeeding Savannah due to the medication.
After she wrote on Facebook asking people if they could donate any extra breast milk, five friends Jill Eggert, DeAnne Green, Lavonne Burgess, Megan Samland, and Jordan Stockwell stepped in to help.
Marcy wrote on Facebook: “I am looking for any of you who might have an oversupply of frozen breast milk or know of someone trustworthy who has extra milk. I know I can go for donor milk but I would feel so much more comfortable if I knew the mom who produced it.”
“Her getting breast milk is so important to me. It’s all I know. I’m so heartbroken that I have to stop nursing her. Between all three of my kids, I can say I’ve breastfed for 35 months and it’s something I’m so proud of.”
The five friends donated their own milk to Marcy’s baby, Savannah. Later, Brittney McCarthy also joined in and donated 500 ounces.
Marcy knew all of them through mutual friends but she said she hadn’t talked to them for a while. She was overwhelmed when the six kind-hearted ladies decided to donate their own milk to Marcy’s baby, Savannah.
