She was on a ventilator for 24 days before she died of the deadly virus on Monday.

Her friend and fellow Wexham Lea Labour representative Cllr Haqeeq Dar told that Shabnum was very hard working and it’s a great loss for them.

He said she made a difference to a lot of people’s lives and was very active before she died.

He said: “She was a fighter and fought for 24 days on a ventilator which is a long time. I just can’t believe that she’s gone.”

Shabnum gave birth to quadruplets on June 26, 2006, via Caesarean section despite being diagnosed with a polycystic ovary syndrome.

However, she naturally conceived quadruplets, beating 729,000 to one odds to produce naturally conceived quadruplets.

Councillor James Swindlehurst, leader of the council, said Shabnum was a dedicated Councillor.

He said this is a significant loss for the council and the town and said his thoughts are with her family and friends.

He said: “Despite only being in her first term, she had made a contribution far beyond the years she’d spent in the council chamber.”

“We worked together closely and personally I will miss her very deeply. This is a significant loss for the council and the town, but is nothing compared to the loss her family, close friends and community are feeling right now.”

He said the incident has made them think they have to deal with the virus more seriously.
