In a desperate attempt to get help, the mother called the police and tearfully told the dispatcher that she was unable to feed her infant because it was 2 am and her husband was out of town for work, meaning she had no way of getting baby formula she ran out of.

“I’ve been calling neighbors and no one will answer. I’ve never been in this predicament ever. My milk just literally dried out. This is my fifth kid and this has never happened,” Shannon said in audio secured by KSL.

To help the mum-of-five feed her baby, the Lone Peak Police Department decided to send officers out to buy some milk.

After the officers arrived at the mother’s home, they realized the child was an infant and ordinary milk wasn’t going to do the trick, causing them to return to the convenience store to buy infant formula.

“We’ll leave this with you. We’ll be right back with some formula for your baby – she’s adorable,” Officer Brett Wagstaff said as he handed over the milk to Shannon.

“That’s the same stuff we gave my daughter when she was first born, so hopefully it doesn’t upset her stomach,” he added when he returned with baby formula and refused to accept payment from the woman.

After the act of kindness on the officers’ side, the police admitted they haven’t dealt with such a case before. However, they were more than happy to help the struggling mum.
