A video was shared by a physician online that showed what a coronavirus cough could sound like in children after her son aged four was hospitalized in March despite the family following quarantine before Colorado announced lockdowns.
Anna Zimmerman shared a clip of Lincoln, a little boy, hooked up to tubes as well as having trouble breathing on this 5th day in the hospital and revealed how heartbreaking it was to watch this little one in pain.
Anna wrote on her blog that it was crushing to her his son ask her repeatedly telling her that it was not worth it, when was it going to stop, he did not feel good, it was of no use, and he wanted to go home.
Lincoln was recovered but Anna warned parents to take coronavirus seriously. The mother said that as a physician, she followed the coronavirus outbreak in Italy and China closely.
Despite not having any instructions on lockdown by the government, she pulled out her children from swimming and Jiujitsu lessons early because she believed the virus was very dangerous before people began taking it seriously.
Her children went to their kindergarten and preschool and their last school day was 12th March. Colorado closed schools from 16th March. Anna said that her children did not go on playdates or even across the street to meet their neighborhood friends.
Anna further wrote that they adopted stay-at-home recommendations pretty early and held on to them and added that they did everything right.
However, her son began showing symptoms from 21st March. He sneezed several times but she assumed it was allergies. The next day, Lincoln got a slight cough and a stuffy nose.
She thought that it was nothing serious because he did not have a fever. However, on 27th March, he got a high fever and looked miserable.
Anna began to worry about her child and then they went to a pediatrician, who diagnosed him with a viral illness and then pneumonia. Lincoln was given oral medicines and oxygen at their home for the next 2 days.
Soon, he had to be hospitalized and on day 2, he was declared coronavirus positive, and his mother described the heart-breaking details of his stay.
