A mother has gone viral and surprised her friends after turning completely green following the use of expired fake tan.
As 35-year-old Jenni Coleman from the UK admitted, she was compared to The Wicked Witch of The West from The Wizard of Oz after applying a fake tan that has already expired.
According to the mother-of-two, she didn’t hesitate to apply the fake tan even though she noticed a shade of green.
It wasn’t until the following morning that Jenni saw herself in her bathroom mirror only to realize that she had turned green overnight.
While the mother insisted she’s not one hundred percent sure why this happened, she suggested that using one of her expired fake tan bottles was probably the cause of the mishap.
“I actually look like a witch. When I saw myself the following morning I nearly cried, it wasn’t great, I just couldn’t believe it. It wasn’t patchy – I didn’t think it was ever going to come off,” Jenni said.
Fortunately, however, she was able to get rid of the fake tan in the following days.
While the incident occurred to Jenni four years ago, she and her friends still have a good laugh every time they reshare the photo.
Recently, the snap has once again come back to life after the woman’s friend, Jan Patricia, shared it saying it’s “a good time to work on your tan” due to coronavirus lockdown.
Speaking of her fake tanning incident, Jenni added:
“I was just putting it on one Friday night and thought it looked like it had a little bit of a green tint to it but didn’t think anything of it. The kids were like ‘it does look a bit green mum’ but I thought it would be alright.
“I took the picture to send to my sister and for a while after that I was a bit paranoid that it would happen again. It didn’t turn green straight away, if it had I would have washed it off straight away.”
As the mother explained, people who’ve seen her photo over the years can’t get enough of it and want to make sure her story stays alive.
