A twenty-six-year-old man from California punched his own mother because she hid toilet paper rolls from him.
Toilet paper rolls have been a scarcity in the country because people had stocked up dozens of rolls fearing lockdown.
Due to lockdown, they are finding it difficult to step out of their homes and buying necessary things, or if they do, usually such things are out of stock.
According to department spokesperson of Los Angeles County Sheriff, Shirley Miller, Adrian Yan was arrested as well as charged with battery following an argument over loo rolls, which grew into a physical fight at his family home in Saugus.
Miller said that Yan wanted a loo roll and began getting irritated with his mom as she was hiding toilet paper. The mother hid toilet paper as Yan was using it excessively.
Miller revealed that things between the son and his mother in forties escalated from there and Yan punched the lady in ther face. His mother, then, placed an arrest for the private person on him.
The deputies of Santa Clarita Valley Sherrif responded to the call regarding a family fight at a residence at three in the morning on Monday, and then they arrested Yan.
The injuries of the mother were not severe and she denied to seek medical attention.
According to Miller, it was for the first time the department heard of family disturbance call due to toilet paper, which resulted in an arrest.
However, calls regarding verbal arguments amongst family members have been common and are not considered to be crimes.
This is because due to the lockdown, people have to stay together throughout the day and often end up getting on one another’s nerves.
