A mother has spoken out and shared her outrage with the public after nosy neighbors called police officers on her two kids who were playing naked in the swimming pool in front of their home.

As Beth McKenna from Newcastle, UK, revealed, she was stunned when she saw two officers appear at her front door as her kids were playing in a pool outside her house.

According to the officers, someone expressed their concerns over the well-being of Beth’s children, 2-year-old Elizabeth and 5-year-old Stephen, which is why they resorted to an immediate child welfare check.

Despite their best intentions, however, the officers were confused when they arrived at the family home only to find two happy kids playing in a swimming pool.

“I think the police were embarrassed to be there when they realized why. I was absolutely stunned, but more than anything else, I was furious,” the mother-of-two said after the incident.

“There are people being murdered and stuff like that, this is what the police should be spending their time investigating – not this.”

As Beth added, she suspects her “nosy neighbors” of tipping the police off.

“(The police) said they had to come around and were just doing their jobs, and basically laughed about how ridiculous it was,” the mum added.

“But I think I am a good mum and I was angry that somebody could make accusations about my kids. Nobody has the right to say that and I’d like something to happen to whoever put the call in.

“And my daughter wasn’t even naked – she had a nappy on. I mean, calling Childline or whatever for someone running around in a nappy – it is pathetic.”

Despite the mother believing that she is entitled to an apology, it looks like she will never know who made the unnecessary call.

“We can confirm we received an anonymous report through the NPSCC of concern for two children at an address in Walker,” Northumbria Police spokesperson confirmed after the incident.

“Officers spoke to the family and had no concerns for the welfare of the children. The matter has since been closed.”
