On March 18, when she returned from work, she found out her daughter and her grandchildren were not home as they had been to some of Terri’s children’s friends.

Around midnight, Lynne got a call from her eldest grandson Josh who told her Terri had fallen from a balcony.

She rushed to the house Terri and her children had been visiting and found Terri lying on the ground.

Lynne said: “As Josh was talking I could hear all the sirens going past. When I got there Terri was lying on the ground, and I just knew she wasn’t going to survive.”

The doctors initially told her Terri might survive but after a few tests, they told Lynne nothing could be done to save her.

Lynne explained to her grandchildren that they would have to say goodbye to their mother as she wouldn’t survive and they said their final goodbyes before Terri passed away two days later.

Lynne has now decided to raise Terri’s children as she was a devoted mother. Lynne described Terri as the ‘biggest, loudest, bubbliest character you could ever know and a brilliant mother.’

Lynne said: “I just want to keep her memory alive now and give them the best life they can have and do all the things Terri always wanted to do with them.”

“I have got to do it for her. My life is now about looking after her children.”

Terri’s funeral will be held at Newcastle’s West Road Crematorium on Friday which will be attended by only 20 mourners due to coronavirus crisis.

Lynne is planning to stream the funeral live on Facebook so Terri’s friends can become a part of it.

Terri’s death has left Lynne heartbroken and confused as she still wonders what happened that night and why Terri was out so late with her children.

She said: “The kids are blaming themselves because Terri was saying she wanted to go home but the kids wanted to stay for a sleepover. They knew the lockdown was coming-up so they just wanted to stay and play with their friends.”

Lynne says Terri had mental health issues but she can’t take her life as she was a devoted mother and could never think of leaving her children.
