A mother has made the news after giving birth at home in less than a minute.

29-year-old Sophie Bugg from Hampshire, England, was 38 weeks pregnant when she rushed to the bathroom thinking she needed to poop after waking up in the middle of the night.

Once seated on the toilet, a baby’s head popped out much to the surprise of the unsuspecting mom-of-three who only knew something was off after reaching between her legs with her hand.

After calling for help and standing up, Sophie’s partner Chris came to aid just in time to catch little Millie who was born in 27 seconds after a single push.

“She was ridiculously fast! One moment I’m texting my friend on the toilet and seconds later, I’ve got a baby in my arms. Actually pushing her out from when the lady on the phone told me to push only lasted 27 seconds, it was so fast,” Sophie explained.

She went on to recall how her water hadn’t broken and how she suffered no pain or other symptoms indicating she was about to go into labor.

“It sounds really crude but it just felt like I needed to go for a poo. I had messaged my friend saying I don’t feel great, then put the phone down from where I was sat on the loo and went to get up from the toilet,” the mother added.

“As I went to lift myself up, my body just got that feeling like I needed to push for a poo. So I sat back down, pushed, and as soon as I did that push, I knew it was not from behind!

“I put my hand between my legs and her head was completely out. I shouted to my partner for help, went from the toilet to outside my toilet door on the top of the stairs, did one push and she was out!”

According to the mom-of-three, Millie definitely took her by surprise, but this wasn’t the first time she gave birth unexpectedly.

In 2013, Sophie delivered her first baby, who was born in her sac, in the bathroom just minutes after sitting down on the toilet.

During her second pregnancy, Sophie was admitted to the hospital a week early to avoid being forced to give birth at home for the second time. The 29-year-old proceeded to give birth just under half an hour after being induced.

Though a similar plan was in place for her third pregnancy, Millie decided to surprise everyone by coming out before the date her mom was set to be induced.

“You don’t know what to expect. You get told all these different things from people like you’re going to have a show, you’ll have waters go, so you’re waiting for these things to happen and they didn’t for me so I didn’t think I was giving birth until her head was out,” Sophie says.

“My body doesn’t give me the signs of labor. My midwife and my consultant told me that I go from zero to baby, I don’t dilate like every normal person does.”
