Mother Faces Fine and Is Convicted After She Punishes Daughter for Eating Hamburger Meant for Their Pet Dog


A 35-year-old woman who hit her nine-year-old daughter with a wooden spoon on the buttocks has now been charged with common assault.

A resident of Perth, this mother is accused of having hit her young one with a wooden spoon after the latter ate meat, which was meant for the dogs.

The mother, whose name has been concealed, told her daughter that she could not have the hamburger meat as it contained worming tablets inside it.

This little girl has ongoing ADHD and behavioral issues. ADHD makes it challenging for a person to control impulsive behavior and to pay attention.

This disorder might have led the girl to eat the hamburger meat in spite of being told otherwise.

The wooden spoon smash caused a bruise mark on the girl. She told the police that her mother locks her up in the room.

The girl also told the police that her mother is a victim of domestic violence.

The woman’s lawyer has said that she does not have any criminal record previously and also claims that her actions came out in a ‘moment of frustration.’

The case went to the Perth Magistrates Court. The woman is charged with a $750 fine as well as a spent conviction.

The mother agreed that her actions were too severe in contrast with the nature of her daughter’s behavior and also made a plea about the same.

The magistrate is confident that the mother would not repeat her actions.
