Mothers usually love dressing their kids for any occasion, but for big events such as the previous 4th of July holiday, they wanted to go big as well.
Independence Day is widely celebrated in the United States, and people can go as far as exhibiting their American Flag outfits!
And one mother has proudly shown off the outfit she prepared for her 2-year-old daughter to celebrate the 4th of July.
On TikTok, the mom took a video of her kid modeling a crop top American flag which she paired with loose ripped jeans and white sneakers. She then compared her chosen outfit to an outfit her daughter’s grandmother had bought.
Meanwhile, it seems that the toddler’s grandma preferred an outfit that involves a red, white, and blue gingham dress and leggings underneath.
The grandma has also included a novelty headband matching with American flag sandals and some cute beaded necklaces.
It has a text that reads: “Mom vs Grandma 4th of July outfit”
The video was shared to TikTok and went viral quickly gaining over 4.5M likes from the viewers.
While the TikTok video seemed cute to some viewers, it also ignited intense debate from commenters, saying the mother’s choice of outfit was “inappropriate” for a two-year-old child to be wearing.
“Why is mom dressing her like a 21-year-old?!” one commenter angrily said.
“Yes, grandma dresses a little girl – not a teenager,” a second-one added.
“Dress her like a child, she shouldn’t be wearing the same crop tops adults would wear outside,” the third commenter has said.
Meanwhile, some of them defended the 2-year-old’s mother.
“Everyone is complaining about her wearing a crop top – what is the difference between that and a bathing suit?” one user has said.
“Let’s just talk about how cute she is in both outfits,” another one has added.
