A woman and her daughter were abducted and assaulted for two weeks after the group lured her with a promise of work.
It is reported that the mother had been lured by a group of kidnappers with a false promise of well-paid work at a hospital in Pakistan.
A man identified as Rafiq Malik has been arrested for the horrific incident which occurred in Kashmore, a district in Sindh province, police said.
According to Pakistani news network Samaa, Malik is now being questioned by authorities as officers continue to search for two other suspects.
The group reportedly lured the woman with a high-paying job before kidnapping and raping her and her four-year-old daughter.
A police officer reportedly said: “The suspects kidnapped them and kept them in custody for 15 days.”
The men then raped the mother and her daughter multiple times before releasing the woman, instructing her to bring more women from the area.
They threatened to kill her daughter if the mother did not follow their instructions.
The mother went to the police right away and her daughter was rescued. She was rushed to a hospital in Larkana where it was confirmed that she and her mother had been gang-raped, Samaa reported.
Convicted rapists in the country face a sentence of 10 to 25 years behind bars or death penalty.
For gang-rape, the sentence is life imprisonment or death penalty.
One person commented: “I just can’t even put into words what I want to say . Please let the daughter and mother be ok.”
Another wrote: “This is disgusting – we need more international human rights support for these situations.”
A third added: “I think about my lovely granddaughters and weep.”
