As the reports claim, the mom who severely neglected her children argued with the Department of Health and Human Services to keep custody of her three girls after the abuse came to light.

Nevertheless, the ruling stated the mother could no longer care for her daughters aged 4, 7, and 10. However, she kept custody of her son who is the youngest of her children.

As the Victorian Civil and Administrative Tribunal heard, the authorities had been in contact with the mother for years due to allegations of child neglect and abuse.

According to the prosecutors and the girls, the mother caused significant harm to her children by beating them with a broom and forcing them to sleep in dog kennels after locking the doors of the house.

The mother had also been showering the kids while they were wearing clothes and sending them to school without underwear.

As the girls added, they were forced to eat from trash bins of their neighbors because their mother refused to feed them.

Following the ordeal, the 7-year-old girl’s behavior is particularly troubling, as she developed different personalities, including an aggressive dog, to cope with the abuse. As for the 10-year-old daughter, she suffers from severe PTSD.

Despite the mother’s ruthless actions, Judge Marilyn Harbison of Victorian Civil and Administrative Tribunal ruled that the mom couldn’t keep custody of her daughters but allowed custody of her son.

“I am persuaded there is no real likelihood of the safe reunification of any of the girls with the mother in the next 12 months,” Ms. Harbison said. “In coming to that decision I have considered the best interests of each of the children.”

According to the Judge, the girls are allowed to get in contact with their mother once per month.

While the Department of Health and Human Services admitted that the woman’s son isn’t in any immediate danger, they warned that the cycle of abuse could continue now that he is the only child in his mother’s care.
