A mother has made a chilling confession to the police after her 6-week-old twins were found dead in her apartment.
Police officers found the infant twins, a girl and a boy, inside the Woodside Houses on 51st Street and 32nd Avenue on Thursday afternoon.
Police said that a relative had requested a wellness check after the mother gave evasive answers when she asked about the whereabouts of her babies.
The mother appeared agitated when cops arrived at the apartment, according to the New York Post.
She reportedly told officers: “I do not want them.
“I can’t take it anymore,” she told police.
The body of the infant boy, Dakta Bentley, was found inside a bedroom crib with a knife sticking out of his head, according to the Daily News.
When asked about the girl, Dallis Bentley, the mother said that the body was under the sink.
Sources said that the infant girl was wrapped in a pink blanket when cops found her.
“She pointed towards the sink,” NYPD Housing Chief David Barrere said during a press briefing.
Police said that the mother does not have any criminal history.
The Administration for Children’s Services is now investigating the death of the babies.
Shocked neighbors said the mother had just moved into the flat last month.
“I’m so sad. I’m shock. I’m heartbroken,” 31-year-old Janeliz Perez told the Post.
