An upset mother has spoken out and claimed that she and her daughter were left traumatized after finding a whole chicken foot in their nugget.
The incident happened to 27-year-old Laura-Jane Popsey from Surrey, UK, after she purchased a takeout Happy Meal at a local McDonald’s branch.
“The food was hot so I was breaking the nuggets up for her – and I saw it. The food was hot so I was breaking the nuggets up for her – and I saw it,” Laura recalled in an interview with The Sun.
“I was so grossed out by it all. Disgusted. My daughter was traumatized. I was horrified.”
After coming across the chicken foot, the mother quickly grabbed her cell phone and recorded the fail before sharing her story on social media.
As she was already far away from the restaurant, she called them to report the issue but was told she would have to return to them in order to get the matter resolved.
After a few days, Laura finally found the time to go back and was offered free food as compensation for the incident.
“Normally I’m not a fan of McDonald’s but we needed something quickly. I’m a vegetarian – but it has put me right off eating there again,” the mum added.
“Lily could’ve choked on it – it’s very dangerous. It was tough, it didn’t look like a vein. It looked like a chicken foot.”
After the incident went viral, McDonald’s apologized but insisted that the object was a naturally-occurring blood vessel because they allegedly use 100% chicken breast in their nuggets.
