Hunter went to Blu Gorilla Tattoo Full-on-Custom in South Carolina while messaging his 51-year-old mom asking for advice on what tattoo he should get.

His mother replied: “If you dont have a need for one dont get it. Tattoos are for something important.”

But instead of taking his mother’s advice, cheeky Hunter looked at tattooist Gregory Watkins in the eyes and said he wanted his mother’s message inked on his arm.

30 minutes later, Hunter sent a photo to her mom, and she jokingly said: “I am gonna beat you.”

51-year-old Donna from Georgia said: “I thought it was fake. I had to Google for fake tattoo apps for a long time. Finally, I asked [Hunter’s girlfriend] Katie whether he had really done it.

“When she sent me the picture of her with it, I just couldn’t believe he would do that.

“Hunter knows I am not normally a fan of him getting tattoos but honestly I love it. It is an example of our fun-loving relationship and I’m happy if it makes him happy.”

Gregory Watkins, who has been a tattoo artist for more than two decades, said he had never been asked to do anything like that before.

“It was so unbelievably funny I couldn’t refuse,” Gregory said. “When I looked at the phone and only saw the message, I was confused as I didn’t see an image [to tattoo].”

He went on: “I had never heard of anything like this so started laughing at what he was suggesting and wanted to do it.

“Everyone was laughing under their breath as the tattoo machine buzzed away. When it was done he took a picture and sent it to his mum and moments later he got a text saying ‘I am gonna beat you’.

“We fell about laughing as he replied again in turn ‘I’m gonna beat you -mom.. Next tat’. None of us could contain our laughter and with a smile we bandaged the tattoo.”

Gregory added: “All in all, I believe his mum was such a good sport about it. He told me she was an amazing woman and very cool about the silly stuff he does and his sense of humour.

“It was an endearing idea for a tattoo from a very special person in his life making for a very special tattoo that she picked for him, unbeknownst to her. It made my day and it certainly brought a smile to my face.”
