Mothers will do anything to protect their kids — yet this mother took a literal sense and would do as much as murdering her children herself in order to “protect them,”
Madison McDonald, mother, admitted to sedating and smothering her children, Archer Hammond, 6, and Lillian Mae McDonald, 1. She confessed to 911 when she walked into the Irving Police Department so that she could use the phone in their lobby and turn herself in.
She sedated her daughters before bed, and then proceeded to smother them to death. When they arrived to arrest her, she told sources that her daughters were being abused so she wanted to “eliminate them” so that they were protected from the said abuse.
Both the girls had been pronounced dead when officers proceeded to investigate their living quarters at Anthem Apartments. Once proclaimed dead, the mother was arrested and convicted of murder on two accounts.
Officer Robert Reeves, Irving police spokesman, believes that the cause of death was by smothering, but that is to be announced after medical examiners take a look at the bodies.
Mcdonald’s demeanor at the police department when confessing was “calm,” approaching them to turn herself in.
The father of the Archer Hammond, 6, Tim Hammond, paid his respect and condolences by posting on his social media platform, Facebook. In the post he writes, “I have no words. Thank you guys for reaching out. I don’t know how to process this, or if it’s possible to do so,
If I didn’t respond please don’t take it personally it is appreciated I just don’t know what can be said. She was such a sweet girl and brought so much light to everyone she met,”
The father of Lillian Mae McDonald, 1, posts a picture of her as well with the comment: “Daddy loves you forever my sweetheart Lillian,”
In response to the situation, there has been a GoFundMe page set up to pay tribute and help Chris, father of Lillian, to pay for the expenses of Lillian’s funeral. The description goes, “If you are friends with Chris you know that his daughters are the light of his life. Lillian was his youngest daughter and she just adored her daddy,”
