A mother has opened up about her bullied son’s life and revealed she was forced to pull him out from all classes because his classmates refused to stop harassing him.

As 34-year-old Leanne Fernandez from Essex, UK, claimed, her 12-year-old boy Harrison, who has autism, had been subjected to beatings and verbal harassment for months before she gave up on trying to get him to be accepted by his classmates.

According to the heartbroken mum, the bullies immediately isolated Harrison so that they would have a target they could always pick on.

While the boy was initially made fun of and accused of “walking, talking, and looking gay,” the bullies were quick to turn to physical abuse as well.

As Fernandez has claimed, her son would get punched and kicked and would often return home in tears with damaged clothes and bruises.

“Obviously it all started off verbally with them saying he was gay, he walked gay, he looked gay, he talked gay,” the upset mum alleged.

“But on the second day, it escalated to physical. They tried ‘peanut-ing’ the tie and it came off and they started pushing him and it continued out of school.

“He has had orange juice poured down the back of his neck, food taken away from him, had three of them pushing him at one time.”

While the mother has come forward with some pretty serious allegations, the Colchester Academy principal insists it is the school’s “highest priority” to keep “students safe.”

“I cannot comment on individual cases. However, keeping our students safe is our highest priority, which includes dealing swiftly with any incidents of alleged bullying. We follow clear behavioral procedures and use any appropriate sanctions we have available,” the principal said.

As the worried mother added, however, the situation was far from under control whereas Harrison’s classmates allegedly threatened the boy to find him and crush his skull.

“One child threatened him when he saw him and said, ‘we are looking for you’ and said, ‘we are going to stamp on your skull.’ That’s not a normal thing for a 12-year-old to say,” Fernandez said.

“… When you go in to school every single day and a number of them are going up to him between classes punching him in the groin. It’s awful.”

According to the mum, she contacted the police on several occasions after her son got beaten by his classmates. But that didn’t stop the bullying either.

“We received a number of reports reporting a boy had been assaulted. We carried out enquiries and spoke to parties involved,” the police said. “Words of advice have been given.”

To protect her son from the bullies, Fernandez was forced to pull him out from classes and find him a new school, hopefully one where he’ll be free from harassment and beatings.
