Mother And Her Boyfriend Charged After Toddler Dies In Car


A mother and her boyfriend have been charged with manslaughter after a toddler died inside a locked car.

3-year-old Rylee Rose Black from Townsville, Australia, has passed away after being locked in a car on Friday, November 27, when temperatures outside reached a sizzling 33°C (91.4°F).

According to the reports, the little girl was trapped inside the vehicle for as long as five hours, whereas the temperatures inside the car potentially reached up to a staggering 70°C (158°F).

After hours inside the hot vehicle, Rylee was discovered by her 37-year-old mom Laura Peverill. While the mother took the young child to the hospital, the 3-year-old could not be saved.

Following Rylee’s premature death, the authorities have arrested the mother and her boyfriend, Aaron Hill. The couple has since been charged with manslaughter.

Meanwhile, a GoFundMe page has been launched for Rylee’s father, Pete, to help him and his other three daughters get through the loss.

While the investigation continues, Peverill and Hill remain in custody while awaiting the December 14 court appearance.

“The charge of manslaughter indicates there’s been negligence on the part of the people responsible for this child’s health and wellbeing,” said Detective Senior Sergeant Dave Miles.
