The 39-year-old mother who allowed her boyfriend to torture her 17-month-old child has been given a priority Covid jab.
Tracey Connelly was given the vaccine while she is serving an indefinite sentence in HMP Low Newton in County Durham.
“She was on the vulnerable list so she’s had the jab,” a source told The Sun. “There’s no picking and choosing from the jail. She’s eligible so there you are. But she’s certainly not as vulnerable as the child who died in her care.”
According to reports, Connelly just watched porn while her 17-month-old son, known as Baby P, was tortured by her boyfriend Steven Barker and his brother Jason Owen at their Tottenham home in 2007.
The child had suffered over 50 injuries despite receiving 60 visits from social workers, health professionals, and police over eight months.
The mother was imprisoned for a minimum of five years and she was released on license in 2013.
In 2015, she was recalled to jail after she had been sending photos of herself to perverts.
The official spokesperson of the Prime Minister said last month that there was no question of inmates getting the vaccine before other groups.
“That is obviously not the case and is not true,” the spokesperson said. “Prisoners won’t be prioritized for vaccines.
“They are vaccinated at the same time as the general public in line with the JCVI prioritisation groups, no quicker than that.”
One person commented: “Looks like she’s enjoying her stay in prison at the taxpayers expense – especially the all-you-can-eat buffet.”
Another wrote: “Poor wee lad never had a chance. I’m so against this, especially as I know older people yet to receive their first vaccination.”
A third added: “Something wrong when she is in jail and over 20 stone.”
