A mother who gave birth to identical quadruplets in a rare, one in 15 million birth, has finally been allowed to take her babies home.
35-year-old Chris and Jenny Marr welcomed four identical sons on March 15 after a miracle birth amid the coronavirus pandemic.
After spending two and a half months in the NICU, the babies were finally ready to join their parents in their home.
“I was so worried that we would spend such a long time in the hospital. We had the most amazing nurses and doctors during our NICU and Special Care stay. We made friends that will last a lifetime,” Jenny wrote in her Facebook post after receiving the good news.
“Having babies during a global pandemic has been quite the experience. Everyone at Texas Health Presbyterian Dallas made us and our babies too priority for care and safety. I only hope that one day I can hug each of them and say thank you.”
As the grateful mother went on to say, she is thankful to the staff for believing in her preemie quadruplets and doing their best to “exceed all expectations.”
“We never heard bad news, we never really had to worry, we welcomed into the world 4 healthy incredible babies. And now after just under 2 months they are all home,” Jenny added.
As the mother previously expressed, she and her husband were in a shock when they were told they’re expecting identical triplets.
One appointment later, however, the shock doubled as the doctor revealed there was another heartbeat and that the couple is in for quadruplets.
“I made the joke that I am not coming back because there are going to be five babies next time. We were just shocked. Jumping from three to four was easier to swallow. Just after that we heard they were healthy,” Chris said in an interview with Today.
