A mother-of-15 from Charlotte, North Carolina, just gave birth to her 16th child.
Patty Hernandez, 39, continued their family tradition by naming her baby Clayton. She and her husband Carlos, 38, named all of their children with the same first letter.
Speaking to The Mirror, she revealed that they had struggled to come up with a new name starting with C before Clayton was born.
“We couldn’t figure out a name and then Clayton just popped into my head,” Patty shared.
“All the kids have names beginning with ‘C’ and we wanted to keep that going. My husband is called Carlos… it’s a tribute to him.”
Patty said that her latest pregnancy was the most difficult of all as she was 40 weeks pregnant when she gave birth.
“All my other births have been before 38 weeks. He just didn’t want to come out,” she shared.
But Patty said that she is still open to having more children.
“God has blessed us with all these kids, I know some people don’t agree and there are nasty comments online but for us it’s a big blessing,” she expressed.
“I never thought I would have a big family until I started having babies. Then I thought ‘this is cool, why not?’ It’s really fun.
“If God wants us to have another child we will have another one.”
Patty, who runs her own cleaning company, reveals that she and her husband spend £650 on food for their kids every fortnight.
They earn enough from their family business to pay the bills and they hope that their eldest son, Carlos Jr, will soon be able to help them at their firm.
The couple have three sets of twins, Caroline and Caleb, 3, Catherine and Calvin, 6, and Caitlyn and Carla, 10. Their other children are: Crystal, 1, Charlotte, 1, Camillia, 2, Carol, 4, Cristina, 7, Celeste, 8, Cristian, 9, and Christopher, 11.
