A mother has been facing backlash after sharing a photo of a large pile of gifts she had bought for her 7-year-old daughter for Christmas.
26-year-old Kayleigh Moran from Wales, UK, is a proud mother of 7-year-old Daisy. Ahead of this year’s Christmas, the mom bought over fifty gifts worth a total of more than $800 for her little girl.
After sharing a photo of the Christmas presents haul on social media, the mom received mixed replies whereas some parents suggested the number of gifts she had bought was simply too much for one child.
“Prepared for once this year, took 4 hours but finally wrapped my little girl’s presents, I used the wrapping paper from the loft from the January sales I don’t think she will notice thou tbh she’s 7,” the 26-year-old wrote in her post.
While some parents praised the mom for doing her best to make her daughter’s Christmas unforgettable, others suggested she was just spoiling her daughter.
Following a series of negative replies, the mother hit back at critics and defended her only child and the decision to buy her many gifts.
As Manchester Evening News reported, the mother admitted that her daughter was “spoilt” but insisted that she wasn’t a “brat.”
Moran also claimed that Daisy does a lot of volunteering and community work and always donates her old toys to charities.
“Throughout the year she’s raised over a thousand pounds for a children’s cancer charity, as well as various collections for our local zoo, cat sanctuary and Women’s Aid,” the mom insisted.
