A mother and her baby boy were in ‘good spirits’ only hours before their dead bodies were discovered.
Nicola Keane’s body was discovered under a bridge in Dublin and the infant son was later found unresponsive at their family home in Shackleton Way, the Daily Mail reported.
Police officers went to the home of the 34-year-old pediatric nurse after finding her body on Lower Road, Strawberry Beds, Dublin.
According to reports, the boy’s father was not aware that his child, who passed away from asphyxiation, was dead in the room upstairs.
Police called to the home and Keane’s husband, Darren Coleman, was awoken by cops. The child’s body was then found in one of the rooms.
Heartbroken Coleman was not aware that his only son had passed away.
The couple, who got engaged in 2012 and tied the knot in 2014, had moved into their new home in 2018 to start a family.
Neighbors said that the mother was in ‘good spirits’ hours before she was found lifeless. She was also seen walking her son the day before the devastating tragedy.
“Nothing seemed out of the ordinary when I saw her pushing her child around the estate in his buggy,” a neighbor said.
“We didn’t know each other on a first-name basis, but the family were very pleasant and friendly. I’m just in total shock at what happened, I don’t know what else to say. I can’t get my head around how something like this could have happened.
“I don’t think this area will ever be the same again.”
Another neighbor said: “I’ve become so depressed after hearing what happened to this poor woman and her son. My heart really goes out to her partner who must be absolutely destroyed with grief.”
