Art B&B’s misshapen room, which costs £70 a night, features a bed with high sides to block access, bathroom light is behind the shower-head, the curtains don’t cover the window, and a TV that you can watch by looking in the mirror.

The room was designed by Leicester-based artist Christopher Samuel to show people the difficulty disabled people face when they are put in accommodation not meant for their needs.

The hotel is run by Michael Trainor, from Manchester who said: “Every element of the room is in place to infuriate the guests, you have to hop over the toilet and stand behind the door to use the sink leaving about a foots worth of space.”

“The builders didn’t understand what was going on, they kept pulling us to one side and telling us the designs were all wrong and the measurements did not add up.”

“I suppose they’re not used to people telling them that being wrong is exactly how it is supposed to be and were quite baffled by it – we all had a good laugh when seeing the final product.”

Mr. Samuel, who designed the misshapen room, told that he was once homeless and was forced to live in temporary accommodation with poor access.

He said: “I couldn’t enter the room normally, use the toilet or even get on the bed, so I just slept on my chair. I’m really pleased with the room, I think it brings some genuine understanding to people about the difficulties of being disabled in everyday situations.”

The room has been booked by a few guests to experience the difficulty disabled people face.

The room costs £70 a night to stay in. Christopher said: “The important part is that guests understand the purpose of this room, it must be the most annoying hotel room in the world.”
