Morgan Freeman Has Established A Bee Sanctuary In Mississippi After Transforming 124-Acre Ranch


In the world today, each person is constantly working in order to make their lives better.

Yes, it is a great thing but in the race of saving one’s self, people have forgotten the basic meaning of humanity.

Humanity means to live for others and not just for self. While many creatures on the planet are able to help themselves like us humans, there are millions of species of animals, insects, and mammals who are not.

Being the one who is completely capable of it, it is the duty of human to help these creatures. Working in the same direction Morgan Freeman has developed a sanctuary to protect bees and help them grow.

To serve the purpose he had been working on since 2014, the Shawshank Redemption actor transformed his Mississippi’s 124-acre ranch in a sanctuary for the bees.

He has installed 26 beehives to give the bees a better place to live in and has also planted lavender magnolia trees that are soothing and welcoming for bees.

He has been feeding these little babies sugar and water since 2014 and has several plans of continuing on the same.

On his appearance on the The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon, he discussed the importance of honey bees in the environment and why it is important to save them. He also said if we keep exploiting these bees in the same manner then they soon may get extinct.

Discussing the same. He said that he never wears a bee suit while he is feeding them. He says they are wise enough to know that the man is causing them no harm and apparently no bee has ever stung him in 5 years of his working.

Although he has set up the sanctuary and is feeding the bees, the actor said that he has no intentions of disrupting their hives or extracting the honey they make.

They are the foundation of vegetation and humans have to bring them back to the planet. Without honey bees, flowers will never be able to bloom in the same way.
