Back in 2019, Chloe Stacy, nine years old at the time, was seen turning her face up in shock and pain as she undergoes the procedure in a professional salon in preparation for a contest.

From an episode of TLC’s Toddlers & Tiaras, Jamie, Chloe’s mom, insists that her daughter will “take a little bit of pain all day long” if it means winning a better title.

Despite her daughter already winning over $20,000 in beauty pageant prize money, Jamie said that ‘if it came down to facial beauty alone, she doesn’t have that particular look that a lot of judges are looking for.’

“She does have brown eyes and dirty blonde hair, it doesn’t stand out like a beautiful redhead or a blonde hair, blue-eyed child,” Jamie said.

The pageant mom then decided to take Chloe to the salon to have her hair highlighted and brows fixed before her next contest.

“It just allows for us to win… and who doesn’t like to win?” Chloe’s mom explained.

While Chloe didn’t mind the highlights part of the makeover, it’s obvious from her anguished expression that she hated the hot wax treatment.

The child braces herself to be plucked and preened as her mother Jamie hovers over her and nods approvingly. As the first wax strip is ripped from the child’s brow she looks shocked and clutches her sore eyes.

Jamie stands over Chloe the entire time, telling her daughter to keep quiet and “close your eyes and mouth” while the beautician works.

The girl could be seen in pain and even in tears after the procedure. Even the eyebrow waxer revealed that the beauty pageant star is slightly nervous.

“It was pretty bad,” Chloe said afterward.

Although finding the treatment painful, Chloe admits it was all worth it because “it was pretty at the end.”

Jamie, who works full time in beauty pageants, defended that she was giving her daughter a makeover to stand a better chance of taking home a crown from a pageant in Oklahoma.

She also provided her daughter with temporary veneers for her teeth, to hide what she refers to as a “jack-o-lantern” smile.

“I call her my little jack-o-lantern because right now some teeth are all the way down, some aren’t, some are completely missing,” Jamie said. “Having your teeth look good does of course make a difference on stage.”

Meanwhile, Chloe also said that she liked wearing her temporary veneers.

“I like wearing my flipper so I don’t look like a jack-o-lantern,” Chloe said. “I’m not going to be a jack-o-lantern for Halloween because jack-o-lanterns are fat.”

Jamie hoped that the extreme beauty regime has put her daughter in a strong place for the show.

“When Chloe is on stage, you can’t control what she’s going to do on stage or the judge’s opinion so all you can do is hope for the best,” she said.

Several people have criticized Jamie for the decisions and actions she made for her daughter. Social media users condemned Jamie for putting her child through all the pain and some even accused the mom of child abuse.

“This mother is giving her daughter major body confidence issues she’s horrible to her,” one person said.

“Why are they waxing her brows if she barely has any….also it’s abuse,” a second one added.
