A pregnant mother was outraged when her partner brought his Xbox games to the hospital when she went into a painful labor.
The mother shared a clip of her fiance on TikTok, keeping himself entertained at the hospital.
In the TikTok video, the then mother-to-be could be seen lying in the hospital bed before showing her man, who’s wearing headphones as he plays the video game.
“He’s going to miss his son’s birth due to that Xbox,” she captioned the TikTok clip.
“So I might go into labor today, and my boyfriend is doing this,” the mother said in the video. “Babe, why did you bring your Xbox?”
Her fiance then responded with “one game I promise,” before continuing his game.
At the time of this writing, the TikTok video has since racked up over seven million views, with the couple’s followers left fuming by the man’s behavior.
“I’d be so embarrassed when the doctors came in?” one follower commented.
“I play games and to me, this is just disrespectful,” another one agreed. “He’s missing memories he should be having.”
“I would be throwing hands,” a third person said.
Despite the hateful comments, there were a few who thought there was nothing wrong with the man playing video games to keep himself entertained, admitting they would do the same.
“I honestly don’t mind that at all!” one person said. “I told my husband to bring the Switch so we can play Mario Kart when I go into labor.”
“Lmao, we brought the Xbox when I was in with our second one,” said another commenter.
So, what do you think? Is it okay for husbands or fathers-to-be to play video games while the wife goes into labor?
