Diners Accused Mother Of Ruining Their Lunch Because Her 10-Month-Old Baby Was Crying

If you didn’t love Texas Roadhouse already, this story just might win you over.

Katie Leach of Boise, Idaho, was eating dinner with her 10-month-old son Drew at the restaurant in her neighborhood. Being a 10-month-old baby, Drew did what most 10-month-olds do best: he started screaming for no reason!

Katie, being a good mother, was patient with him and tried to teach him, again, how to use his inside voice. If you’ve ever been around little kids, you know it takes more than a simple verbal explanation to get them to do something.

It was hard to get Drew to sit quietly, as there was a lot of excitement in the air — servers were singing happy birthday, and people were all generally very talkative.

Texas Roadhouse boasts about being voted as one of the loudest restaurants by Consumer Reports. They’re proud of their noisy dining environment. It’s not too out of place to hear a baby screaming among all the kinds of noise you can expect to hear there. But apparently, a table of fellow diners did not like it. They wrote Katie a note that read:

“Thank you for ruining our dinner with your screaming kid. Sincerely, the table behind you.”

It was a malicious note, but Katie tried to be nice and explained that Drew was only a baby and he was still learning. The couple who wrote the note responded that their grandchildren never behave that way.

And this is when the restaurant manager steps in. She told the couple to leave as soon as they were done with their dinner. On top of this, she also paid for Katie’s meal and said that she and Drew were welcome any time.

This is the true face of the hospitality business! An encounter that could’ve discouraged the young mom to ever return with her son turned into an amazing act of kindness and women standing up for each other. It does take a village to raise a kid.
