A Victoria’s Secret model sues a hotel in California for bed bugs, saying she had over 90 bites on her back, legs, and arms.
She also mentioned that she wanted to rip her skin off.
Sabrina Jales St. Pierre, a Brazilian model, filed a lawsuit against the Embassy Suites by Hilton in Palm Desert. She said she woke up to numerous welts and red marks covering her whole body.
Speaking about the incident, she told NBC Los Angeles: “I literally wanted to rip my skin off.
The first morning, when I woke up, I noticed a couple of bites on my arm, but I didn’t think anything of it. And then, the second morning is when I noticed all the bites, and that’s when it got worse.”
St. Pierre, who has modeled for Valentino, Versace and Victoria’s Secret, stayed at the 3-star hotel for a photo shoot. She told the outlet that she had more than 90 bed bug bites all over her body.
Her lawyer Brian Virag said: “She absolutely got massacred.”
The model’s unfortunate stay is not the first time the California hotel has been called out for unsanitary conditions.
Santa Ana Police sergeant Gary Bruce said he also suffered numerous bed bug bites after staying in the hotel.
He said: “There’s no doubt in my mind it was definitely bed bugs.”
It was also reported that the Palm Desert hotel did not always change bed sheets, covers and pillowcases after guests checked out.
The manager said that they take guest safety and health “very seriously,” but “sometimes human error occurs.”
The Brazilian Victoria’s Secret model filed the lawsuit against Hilton Worldwide Inc and Embassy Suite management, saying she suffered both physical and emotional distress.
