Mississippi has passed a bill that will see transgender students banned from competing against females in schools and universities.
Following President Biden’s decision to push for inclusivity by signing the Executive Order on Preventing and Combating Discrimination on the Basis of Gender Identity or Sexual Orientation, the state of Mississippi hit back by passing a bill that will see trans student athletes banned from female sports teams.
Speaking of the bill that passed the state’s House in an 81-28 vote, Governor Tate Reeves said young girls should not be forced to compete with biological males as he vowed to sign the bill.
“I will sign our bill to protect young girls from being forced to compete with biological males for athletic opportunities,” he stated.
“It’s crazy we have to address it, but the Biden (executive order) forced the issue. Adults? That’s on them. But the push for kids to adopt transgenderism is just wrong.”
As per the bill, transgender athletes will not be allowed to compete against girls in schools and universities.
The Republican governor previously lashed out at the president for signing the controversial executive order as he accused Biden of “pushing children into transgenderism.”
“I am so disappointed over President Biden’s actions to force young girls like them to compete with biological males for access to athletics,” the governor, who is a father of three girls, previously said.
“I don’t understand why politicians are pushing children into transgenderism in the first place. I certainly don’t understand why the President chose to make it a priority. And my heart breaks for the young women across America who will lose in this radical social experiment.”
It is believed that Mississippi is just one of over 20 states that predominantly believe transgender athletes should not be allowed to compete with females in school sports.
