After Miley Cyrus’ Abortion Cake Photo Went Viral, Pro-Life Groups Pushed Back With Their Own Versions

Miley Cyrus used her star power last week when she posted a picture showing herself suggestively licking a cake that had “Abortion is Healthcare” written in icing.

The photo quickly went viral and showed up in a promotional campaign for Marc Jacobs sweatshirts. Apparently, all proceeds from that campaign will be sent to Planned Parenthood.

Pro-life groups decided to respond with their own version of the photo. For example, Students for Life had a photo featuring a baby girl enjoying the icing on the cake with the message “Abortion Is Violence.”

The photo’s caption read: “Mothers and their children deserve better than abortion! Miley Cyrus and Planned Parenthood teamed up to perpetuate the lie that abortion is healthcare. But we know the truth, and we fixed their cake. Abortion betrays women.”

Another pro-life group, Save the Storks, came up with their own photo that features a baby dipping into a cake that has “Celebrate Life” written on it.

“Women’s rights begin in the womb!” the photo’s caption reads. “Very special collab with moms who’ve chosen life. Like if you believe in healthcare for ALL — including the pre-born.”

Joe Baker, the founder of Save the Storks, said of Miley Cyrus, “Miley Cyrus posted a social media meme and message that blatantly steers women toward abortion. We at Save the Storks want to shine a light on her insensitive post and obvious disregard for the truth about abortion.”

One pro-life woman featured her own cake with the message, “Pregnant Women Are Mothers.”

It was a dig at Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg who recently argued that pregnant women are not mothers. Justice Ginsburg wrote in May, “[A] woman who exercises her constitutionally protected right to terminate a pregnancy is not a ‘mother.'”

The photo’s caption read: “SO, my cake got a lil wonky … I gotta admit it, [Miley Cyrus] has some rad baking skills but I’m pretty sure she spelled murder wrong. Anyway, this is my lil correction to her cake.

“Abortion denies motherhood & I just won’t stand for that. Ps. I won’t be licking this cake bc that’s gross & my family wouldn’t appreciate it.”

The Daily Wire even edited Miley Cyrus’ photo by changing the words to “Abortion ISN’T Healthcare.”

Even with intense liberal push-back, pro-life groups have been making significant gains across the country. For example, “heartbeat” legislation was passed in states like Ohio and Georgia. The legislation prohibits abortion once a heartbeat is detected in the fetus (typically at six weeks).
