Getting out of a brain injury alive is a miracle in itself and Michael Schumacher is living it.
Back in 2013, Michael took a skiing trip to the Alps with his family where while skiing he had hit his head on a rock. The fall was so severe that the hit immediately cracked open his helmet.
Since then the doctors have been treating the 7 time F1 race champion.
Michael had been in care for a long time now and on Monday he was shifted to Georges-Pompidou Hospital in Paris.
While talking to the media a nurse said that yes, Michael is under her care and he has gained consciousness.
The news instantly spread out and Jean Todt former Ferrari boss arrived at the Paris hospital to pay his visit. He stayed there for a good 45 minutes.
Michael is believed to receive a stem cell therapy that helps in reducing the inflammation in the body, and as the therapy is done and he has gained consciousness, the champion will be discharged from the hospital today.
On August 30, Anthoine Hubert, an F2 racer died in Belgian Grand Prix and to attend his funeral Todt was present there at Chartres earlier.
After the funeral, Todt went to visit Michael at the hospital along with his F1 associates and Mick Schumacher, Michael’s son and an F2 racer himself.
Mick is said to be present at Hubert’s funeral too from where he accompanied Todt to his father’s hospital.
In fact, at the time of the unfortunate accident that Michael suffered, his son Mick was right there with him in French Alps.
Since 2014, Michael has been living at his home in Lausanne, Switzerland, at the bank of Lake Geneva where he has been receiving treatments by the specialists all day long.
