NBA legend and The Last Dance star Michael Jordan has donated a massive sum to Feeding America and the network’s member food banks.
As the 57-year-old basketball icon revealed, he donated $2 million worth of proceeds from his movie to feed hungry Americans.
Jordan’s generous act of kindness follows months after The Last Dance swept over Netflix and ESPN with basketball fans rushing to see glimpses of the Chicago Bulls icon’s final moments on the court.
“In these challenging times and in a year of unimaginable difficulty due to COVID-19, it’s more important than ever to pause and give thanks,” Jordan wrote in a statement.
“I am proud to be donating additional proceeds from The Last Dance to Feeding America and its member food banks in the Carolinas and Chicago to help feed America’s hungry.”
As Feeding America confirmed in a tweet, the legend donated $2 million towards the good cause.

The news follows just a month after Jordan launched another health clinic for uninsured patients to provide “critical services” to the residents of his hometown.
As the 57-year-old basketball legend announced, the new location of the Novant Health Michael Jordan Family Medical Clinic has come to life one year after the first clinic, which is located in west Charlotte, was established.
The new clinic is located in North End whereas it will provide “critical services” to the uninsured people of Jordan’s hometown amid the pandemic.
“When we came together to mark the first clinic’s opening last fall, no one could have predicted we would be facing a global pandemic just five months later,” the basketball star said.
“I’m so proud of the positive impact our clinic has had on the community so far, especially during COVID-19. Our second clinic will provide critical services to improve the health and lives of more Charlotteans, which is so important to me and to Novant Health.”
