Netflix Cheer star Jerry Harris has been arrested on child pornography charges only days after twin brothers filed a lawsuit claiming the actor asked one of them to perform oral sex and solicited explicit photos from them.
Harris, 21, faced federal court in Chicago and will be detained until a detention hearing.
According to prosecutors, the celebrity cheerleader admitted that he had asked one of the twin boys to send him videos and photos of his buttocks and private organs on Snapchat.
But the cheerleader also admitted to soliciting explicit pictures from other kids and engaging in a sexual interaction with a 15-year-old.
The arrest came days after FBI agents raided his home in Illinois.
The twin boys, Sam and Charlie, spoke about the claims in an interview with USA Today.
Authorities started the investigation after the allegations were reported by Varsity, the global authority of competitive cheerleading.
According to the complaint, the mother of the twins discovered the explicit photos and text messages on her sons’ phones.
One of the boys, Minor 1, said he sent dozens of sexually explicit videos and images to Harris at his request.
He also claims that Harris once asked him for oral sex when they participated in a competition in February 2019.
Months later, Harris reportedly sent him a message saying he had ‘found a place for s to do stuff.’
The teen, who was only 13 at that time, denied requests for sexual interactions on both occasions.
The exchanges between Minor 1 and Harris stopped earlier this year. When the boy asked Harris why he had blocked him on Snapchat, Harris replied: “I don’t think we should be friends on Snap.”
When Minor 1 asked why, Harris said: “I’m sorry for what I’ve done in the past. I don’t think it’s a good idea we be friends on Snap.”
