Meryl Streep’s nephew, Charles Harrison Streep, was filmed in a road rage fight that left a teen with serious brain trauma.
In a video obtained by Daily Mail, 31-year-old Streep can be seen thrusting the limp body of David Peralta to the ground. The teen alleges that the brutal act caused him to suffer severe brain trauma.
Peralta, whose parents are both from Ecuador, said that Streep hurled racial slurs at him as he dismissed him as ‘just Spanish.’
The brawl happened on August 24 after Meryl Streep’s nephew failed to see a Stop sign and almost crashed on Peralta’s car.
Peralta said to Daily Mail that they exchanged words and he thought it was over until he noticed Streep making an illegal U-turn to follow him to the Chase Parking lot.
Their fight was caught on Chase Bank security cameras.
“He starts coming at me, pushing me. He said: ‘You’re just Spanish I’m going to slam you to the ground…’ (after that) I don’t remember much because I went unconscious,” Peralta told Daily Mail.
Three days after the fight, Streep was arrested and charged with felony counts of second-degree strangulation and second-degree assault before he was released on $5,000 bail.
The teen’s lawyer, Edmond Chakmakian, said to Daily Mail: “David is never going to be the same. This is a major event in his life.
“The level of violence is really shocking. For him to take this young man’s limp body, after he had choked him unconscious and slam him on the ground…it just rises to the level of obscenity in my view.
“And I think to any rational, compassionate person with a heart it’s just beyond comprehension. It’s beyond entitlement. Perhaps he thinks that because of his bloodline or his famous father or aunt he can act with impunity.”
