A Group Of Men Coughed In 73-year-old Woman’s Face While Shouting ‘Corona, Corona’


A 73-year-old was left terrified after a group of youngsters coughed in her face and shouted ‘corona, corona’.

Margaret Reeves told she was out for a seaside stroll when a group of young men – between 19 and 22-years-old – approached her.

The young men coughed in Margaret’s face and shouted ‘corona, corona’ near Hazelmere Drive.

The 73-year-old was left “shaken, weepy and worried” as she felt she had contracted the deadly virus.

She rushed to her home and washed her hair and clothes and disinfected her mobile phone and glasses.

Margaret told Kent Online: “The first one was well over six foot, with dark hair and wearing a black coat, and he and the guy next to him lunged towards me and they started coughing all over me and shouted ‘corona, corona’.”

The three men behind them didn’t do anything but they let the two men cough in her face while they shouted ‘corona, corona’.

She added: “They’ve obviously got no idea about not spreading this virus. I think they thought it was just one big joke.”

Margaret and her partner Daniel Woollett have left terrified after the disgusting attack and Margaret has been told to stay at home by Daniel.

Her partner Daniel said he was very upset and concerned for her after the incident and can’t believe those grown men can actually do this.

The 75-year-old said: “I think they thought it was just one big joke. I view what happened as an assault on Margaret – I think it’s horrendous.”

When Margaret’s story went viral online, several people claimed to have experienced the same.

Chief Inspector Elena Hall said such abusive behavior will not be tolerated and called the incident ‘disturbing’.
