Seven Men Arrested After Shouting Racial Slurs At Family Of Color


Seven men have been arrested for intimidating a family of color on a beach in Oregon by using Nazi salutes and shouting racial slurs at them.

According to Lincoln City police, they were called to the resort at 9:30 pm as a group of ‘highly intoxicated’ men were setting off illegal fireworks.

Officers were ‘immediately surrounded’ by the intoxicated people as soon as they arrived on the beach and ‘began taunting and challenging the officers.’

Police then “learned that this same group of white people had been taunting and challenging a family of black persons by yelling racial slurs at them, insulting them and using Nazi salutes towards them.”

The group of men from Washington were arrested on charges including disorderly conduct and riot before they were cited and released.

Lincoln City police confirmed in a statement that they formed a line of officers to help the victims and let them safely leave the area.

“The black family advised they felt intimidated by the actions this group had displayed towards them,” police said.

“The on scene officers formed a line between the group of white persons and the black family allowing the black family to safely leave the beach and return to their room.

“During this time several in the group of white persons continued to taunt the officers, trying to challenge them to fight.

“Other members from the group of white persons then began shooting off multiple large illegal aerial fireworks in front of the officers.”

22-year-old Ruslan Tkachenko, 45-year-old Oleg Saranchuk, 28-year-old Andrewy Zaytsev, 28-year-old Antoliy Kachankov, 30-year-old Yuriy Kachankov and 30-year-old Gennadiy Kachancov were charted with disorderly conduct, riot, interfering with police, offensive littering, possession of illegal fireworks, and harassment.

“The persons in custody were all transported and lodged at the Lincoln City Police Department,” police said in a statement. “Due to corona virus policies at the county jail, six subjects were issued criminal citations released on 7/5/20.

“An additional male, who refused to identify himself and who had no ID on his person, was transported to and booked into the Lincoln County Jail for fingerprint identification and charged with the above listed crimes.”
